A white wine matured in stone? And specifically in a basalt stone trough, mirroring the soils of the Styrian volcanic region? Indeed, Stefan Krispel is making waves with his patented vinification method, producing a truly unique wine.

The B1 is a blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc from the finest vineyards. It undergoes spontaneous fermentation on the skins in large wooden barrels, followed by 24 months of maturation in basalt stone troughs, and an additional 60 months in large wooden barrels. This extraordinary wine is now ready to be savoured.

In the glass, it presents a golden colour with amber reflections. The nose is enticing and smoky, with notes of pear, ripe apple, and exotic fruits, complemented by dark minerality and hints of wet stone. On the palate, it is immensely powerful and multi-layered, yet opulent in body despite its medium alcohol content. The finish is exceptionally long, with unbridled minerality that makes the wine sing. This is truly a "WOW" experience—a cinematic delight for the palate and a must-try for true wine enthusiasts. It boasts an impressive ageing potential of 15-20 years.
