Our original Austrian site, 9Weine, was founded in March 2015 by two wine professionals: Michael Prünner and Herbert Zerche. Many of their friends had asked them for honest wine recommendations. At the same time, they noticed that wine connoisseurs often felt overwhelmed by the oversupply in the supermarket and did not know exactly which wine to buy. Since then, every wine has been personally tested, rated and described by them.

Above all, wine must be fun and enjoyable into the second sip (or second glass). What is particularly important to us is the harmony of the wine, the balance between acidity, fruit and alcohol as well as the representative expression of the grape. In addition, the wine should reflect its origin. Just an aesthetic label or a nice-sounding name is no longer enough.
