Awarded the gold medal at the PIWI Weinwettbewerb 2020 and winner of the Woche Weinchallenge!
PIWI (fungus-resistant) grape varieties are becoming very fashionable and this variety has been a Qualitätswein in Austria for a few years. In the Scharl winery, "Muscaris" already makes up 10% of the total area under vines. And the trend is increasing. Matured dry in steel tanks, this flagship specimen is a rather light, fruity white wine that smells of herbs, lemon balm and some elderflower. Grape-like, fruity with a juicy taste on the palate. Sticks well and calls for a second sip. Very clear and pure with an intense nutmeg aroma.
A wine that is very enjoyable to drink whether solo as an aperitif or with light salads and vegetarian dishes.
