Weinhof Josef Scharl

Austria / Vulkanland Styria / St. Anna am Aigen

The man with the hat - his "Kapperl" is Josef's trademark. Without it, he won't go out. It's also immortalised on his labels. In the hilly Styrian volcanic region, the Scharl family produces wines with character. In addition to classic varietals such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat, etc., PIWI grapes are grown on a good 20 hectares of vineyards. Josef has made a name for himself with fungus resistant (abbreviated to PIWI in German) vines such as Muscaris, Cabernet Blanc and Souvignier Gris. Countless awards prove this. He is a member of the "Eruptions Winzer".
