Description

Grüner Veltliner is the flagship Austrian white wine grape, and the Wachau brings out its best side.

The Grüner Veltliner Kirchweg 2022 by Johann Donabaum still has a few years ahead of it, but let it breathe a little in a decanter and it's wonderful to drink now. On the nose, it's spicy, with lots of stone fruit, ripe apple and a hint of smokiness. This is a very exciting wine, that wants to be explored.

"Dark" notes on the palate, mineral presence, harmonious acidity and some herbal spice is noticeable. Complex and good body on the palate. Plenty of apple and stone fruit on the finish, plus mineral notes. A great wine with a lot of character, which will develop beautifully.
