A document in the State Archives of Siena testifies that the son of the Lombard King Berengario bequeathed the Gagliole estate to his wife as a wedding present in 994. Thomas Bär, originally from Switzerland, has brought the winery back to life in recent years. In the heart of the Chianti region, sensational wines are made for drinking at the highest level, and are praised by critics as well as aficionados of Tuscan wines.
