And when it comes to crafting outstanding Zweigelt, the Salzl winery truly excels. Their Zweigelt Selection is a perfect example of the grape's potential, made with minimal use of barrique or wood. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks and older, used wooden barrels, imparting structure without overwhelming it with roasted flavours.

The nose is unmistakably Zweigelt, with notes of ripe cherries, sour cherries, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it’s juicy and balanced, with soft, supple tannins and a gentle acidity. Dry yet round, it offers a burst of ripe cherry fruit, subtle hints of bitter chocolate, and a refreshing, savoury finish.
