Salzl Seewinkelhof Cabernet Franc Premium 2018

The Premium line from the Salzl winery represents their highest quality. This powerful red is only made in great vintages from the best grapes. The warm, balanced 2018 vintage created the perfect conditions for this unique wine.

After 24 months ageing in new barrique barrels, this special French grape varietal is showing a lot of charm, although it still has a long life ahead of it.

On the nose, we find nuances of dried plums, gently balsamic underlaid dark berries, black cherry jam, a touch of chocolate, juniper, fresh salty mineral notes, cedar, a hint of coconut and notes of tobacco. It's opulent on the palate, with an intoxicating sweetness, malty, juicy, dark berries and firm tannins. Mineral and clinging, with a fascinating, multi-layered bouquet. Dense, elegant, ripe heart cherry, nougat, balanced, delicate spice and roasted notes in the finish. Blackberries in a warm, long and persistent reverberation.
