Description

The traditional champagne house Roederer has once again amazed everyone with the Collection 243, now available in a stunning 3.0-litre double magnum bottle, complete with a wooden crate.

"243" signifies the 243rd harvest at Roederer, with 52% of the blend coming from the 2017 vintage. The reserve wines, matured in wooden barrels, hail from the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 vintages, as noted on the back label. This meticulous combination creates a Brut champagne with an 8g dosage of residual sweetness, making it truly unique.

Ageing in French oak barrels imparts complexity, delicate creaminess, and incredible elegance to this champagne. This craftsmanship has been highly praised by the world's leading wine critics, with Decanter awarding it 97 points and James Suckling giving it 94 points—remarkably high honours for champagne in this price range.

The nose offers a harmonious blend of yellow apples, peaches, and delicate vanilla notes. On the palate, its elegance is unparalleled. Very fine, almost silky bubbles glide effortlessly, complemented by subtle yeasty notes reminiscent of almonds and brioche. The finish is fresh and savoury, with tantalizing hints of grapefruit.

This champagne provides a cinematic experience for the palate! Perfect for any family celebration, it also pairs splendidly with oysters, seafood, or mild cheese.
