Horitschon in central Burgenland is renowned for its Blaufränkisch. This classic example from the Hochäcker vineyard is organically grown, hand-harvested, matured for about 12 months in used oak barrels and bottled without filtering.

This honest and accessible red wine is a versatile choice that suits almost any occasion. It is still a bit youthful in the glass, with fresh red fruity notes such as blackberries and sour cherries, complemented by meadow herbs. The lively acidity balances the 14% alcohol content, giving the wine a surprisingly light and refreshing character.
