Description
When a Burgenland winemaker and a Vorarlberg winery owner work together in South Africa, it naturally attracts our attention. And the two wines by Leo Hillinger and Alexander Waibel from the Constantia Glen winery impressed us immediately!
The Constantia Hill red was aged in French barriques for 12 months and consists of 42% Petit Verdot, 27% Merlot, 17% Malbec and 14% Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the glass, the red wine cuvée shows a strong dark red with light purple reflections. The nose presents itself with ripe aromas from dark berries to rum pot and light smoky notes. Full-bodied and stimulating. On the palate, the wonderfully ripe fruit is carried by the compact tannin with a touch of chocolate. A wine with a lot of potential and drinkabilty that will bring us joy for many years to come.
Goes perfectly with steak, red meat or pizza & burgers.
