Weingut Kracher Auslese Muskat Ottonel 2021, 0,38 L

The Muscat Ottonel grape varietal is ideal for sweet wines, and who better to make an exquisite sweet wine with it than one of the world's best sweet wine producers, Gerhard Kracher? The right balance between fruit, sweetness and acidity is crucial. This golden speciality was matured in steel tanks and aged on the lees for 5 months. With around 75g residual sugar and 10.0% alcohol by volume, this Auslese is a true delight in the glass.

On the nose, there is a fine aroma of roses, honeydew melon and herbs. On the palate, the luscious sweetness is supported by attractive acidity with a flavour that brings to mind a bowlful of ripe tropical fruit. Not too sweet and not too fruity, but perfectly balanced. Even those who are really fans of Auslese wines will be delighted to drink this one.

Needless to say, it goes well with all kinds of desserts, but we prefer to drink this wine with roast goose liver, curries or savoury cheeses. The pairing with Peking duck is especially worthy of mention.
