Champagne Gimonnet-Gonet Champagne L'Accord Brut, 0,75 L

What Gimonnet-Gonet delivers here is more than remarkable. And yet we weren't surprised, since two big names from the champagne scene have here come together to create what is probably the best expression of Chardonnay. Only great things can come of this.

L'Accord is a cuvée made from 50% Chardonnay, all of which come from Grand Cru locations, and 50% Pinot Noir. The Brut Dosage is at the lower end of the scale, almost extra Brut. The bottles mature on the lees for at least 3 years before they are disgorged. The long time on the yeast is immediately noticeable through the silky pearl structure in the glass.

A super fine perlage, wonderful salty minerality - radiant and clear on the palate - with a lot of potential for maturation in the bottle. However, it's currently super fresh.

Champagne like this needs air and a large glass. A champagne flute would take away a lot of the aroma and not do the champagne justice. Also, it doesn't hurt to drink the champagne a little warmer as this promotes the aromas.
