Description
The La Giaretta winery has been with us since the start of 9wines. At that time, we were looking for a top Amarone, but a little off the beaten track, and discovered these wines on an exploration trip in Italy. They literally knocked us off our feet.
I Quadretti is the top wine from the house - only the best grapes go into this ingenious Amarone. It embodies the strong and powerful Amarone style with bewitching aromas of raisins and preserved fruits. Rum and precious wood literally jump out of the glass.
A real fireworks display on the palate - powerful and dense, but also incredibly juicy. A lot of sweetness meets a very present, vibrating acidity from dried grapes - what a great balance!
A wine that either needs time or a lot of air. It is best to decant a few hours before consumption and drink perhaps 1-2 degrees cooler, the high alcohol will then not appear.
