The white grape variety Orangetraube (hence the title "Orange T") traces its origins back to 1840, yet it has nearly faded into obscurity since then. Zahel Winery stands as the sole producer dedicated to crafting wine exclusively from this semi-aromatic grape variety. Characterised by small berries that turn honey-sweet at full ripeness, Orangetraube finds its sanctuary in the Zahel family's vineyard in Vienna-Mauer, its cultivation dwindling elsewhere. The moniker "orange grape" is derived from the berries' hue when fully ripe and the bronze-coloured shoot tips.

While the EU no longer classifies it as a quality grape, this designation does little to diminish the exceptional quality of the resulting white wine. On the nose, it beckons with inviting fruitiness, offering a bouquet of juicy, fully ripe stone fruit with subtle hints of sweetness. On the palate, it unfolds with a pleasing dryness, balanced by a delicate acidity that lends vibrancy. Subtle notes of orange peel add depth and complexity, enhancing the overall drinking experience.
