Description
Few varietals have experienced such popularity and growth in recent years as Ribolla Gialla. It may still be relatively unknown in other parts of the world, but it is poised to overtake the Lugana in Italy. Ribolla Gialla is an autochthonous variety that is mainly found in Friuli, where it is made into both still and sparkling wines. Here, too, it is a direct and serious competitor to the more famous Prosecco.
This Ribolla Gialla from Tenuta Villanova is thoroughly enjoyable and very easy to drink.
Nice notes of citrus and a slight hint of acacia honey. Very harmonious on the nose and wonderfully fruity on the palate. Not a sweet wine, but beautiful yellow fruit with a good touch of citrus. The great acidity holds up well and tempts you to take the next sip. A complex yet drinkable wine - a great summer wine and also a fantastic accompaniment with food.
