Description
Since Christoph joined his parents' business in 2005, the SACRIS has been a standout! Named from SAlzl ChRIStoph, this single-varietal Zweigelt sits at the pinnacle of the estate's quality wines. It impressively showcases the exceptional potential of this red grape variety.
Aged for 24 months in new, small oak barrels, SACRIS is a dense and smooth red wine. It offers an intense aroma of cherries, dried plums, a hint of cinnamon, and roasted wood notes. On the palate, it is dry and powerful, with juicy fruit that immediately invites another sip. Deep and full-bodied, it glides into an endlessly long finish, leaving traces reminiscent of chocolate, black cherries, and a touch of vanilla. A very delicate salinity testifies to its minerality and top quality. With good ageing potential until 2030, it promises to develop even further.
