Maison Joseph Burrier

Burgundy

The Burrier family has lived and worked in Burgundy for more than 500 years and is now the sixth generation to run the Chateau de Beauregard. We got to know Bertrand, the winery's sales manager, at a trade fair when we came across the winery more or less by chance. We did not immediately realise what a jewel we had uncovered, but this meant we were able to taste the wines with all the more impartiality. We were very enthusiastic. World-class burgundy without par for such value for money? Every now and then one makes such discoveries in France!

The winery now cultivates 43 hectares in the south of Burgundy, almost half of which is Pouilly-Fuissé. Their white wines are shaped by the mineral foothills of the Jura and are match more expensive wines in the north of Burgundy for flavour. The Beaujolais reds are incredibly exciting; taste the Crus Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Saint-Amour and Chrioubles.
