Description

This powerful red wine cuvee from southern Burgenland demonstrates the potential brilliance when Blaufränkisch is paired with the international varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines grow in the immediate vicinity of the Hungarian border, making this wine a link between tradition and modernity and a symbol of breaking down existing, intellectual boundaries. Hence the name Border.

After 18 months of ageing in new barrique barrels and subsequently in the bottle, the great potential of this wine is already indicated. Now, it's still young and fresh on the palate. At first, the wine in the glass is dark and powerful. Canned blueberries with a little rum stew come to mind. Firm tannins meet fiery alcohol on the warm finish.

This can easily be stored for another 12 - 15 years, but will delight die-hard red wine fans even now - whether drunk solo or with game or beef.
