One of Rust's core competencies is the Blaufränkisch red grape varietal. This bold reserve wine was awarded 2 x 94 point ratings and a gold medal.

The grapes for this wine come from the best vineyards in Rust and are carefully harvested by hand. The wine matured for 24 months partially in new 300-litre wooden barrels. The result is a finely textured red wine that impresses and delights in every respect.

Multi-layered aromas on the nose of ripe cherries, blackberries, a hint of cedar and pepper. Dry, smooth and very balanced on the palate. Every sip is distinctive and present. With strength and invigorating fruity sweetness into the long finish which is borne on the typical minerality of the Rust region. It is at the beginning of its drinking maturity and has great ageing potential of at least 15 years.

Can easily hold its own with the best Blaufränkisch wines from Austria in a wine tasting. Pairs well with goose, wild boar and roast beef.
