Description

One of the principal grape varietals of the Rust wine-growing region is undoubtedly the Blaufränkisch red grape. This bold Riserva from one of the best wineries there has received no less than two 94-point ratings and a gold medal.

The grapes come from the best locations in the Rust region. The wine is made from carefully hand-selected grapes and is then aged in 300-litre wooden barrels for 24 months. The result is a finely structured red wine that convinces and inspires in every respect.

Complex aromas on the nose with ripe cherries, blackberries, cedar wood and pepper. The palate is dry, soft and very balanced. Each sip is distinctive and present with a fruity strength and sweetness right through to the long finish, which is supported by the characteristic minerality of the Rust region. It is ready to be enjoyed right away and it has great ageing potential and can be stored for at least 15 years.

It pairs well with meat such as goose, wild boar and roast beef.
