Hochberc is an icon with consistent, high quality and enormous maturity potential. It's a Blaufränkisch benchmark - no more and no less. And no, it's not a misspelling. The Hochberg location in Deutschkreutz used to be written with a "c" on the end and Albert Gesellmann took on that, thereby creating a unique selling point.

From the warm, peak vintage year of 2017, the Blaufränkisch was allowed to mature, after 40 days on the lees, in 500l oak barrels for a good 30 months. It's still very young and at the beginning of its long journey, but shows enormous potential and is already perfectly balanced between fruit sweetness and acidity, with insane tension on the palate! Delicately salty with chocolate notes in the never-ending, long finish.

Albert Gesellmann knows better than almost anyone how to handle Blaufränkisch in wooden barrels and how to give this wine exactly the right treatment, producing a wine that is simply WORLD CLASS!
