It's impressive what Fattoria Zerbina conjures up in the bottle. This winery is a discovery that really put a smile on our faces. An almost thieving joy arises when you look at the price of the wine. In the neighbouring region, a wine of this quality usually costs twice as much, which makes it easier to buy 2 bottles of Marzieno.

In the glass, it's very dark and almost opaque. There's a bouquet of red berries on the nose, with some herbal spices, lots of cassis and a hint of red baked apple and vanilla. It's very complex, with a thoroughly international style. Literally a mouthful of wine on the palate and almost enough to bite into. It's polished and very ripe but with strong tannins, a juicy structure and very nicely integrated wood. This is a powerful wine which still retains a necessary elegance. A long, balsamic finish. Wow! A great wine in the international style and great value for money!!
