Red, often sweet, vermouth is an essential component in many classic cocktails. One of the oldest cocktails, a Manhattan, cannot be made without it. Straight or with ice, a great vermouth like this is a pleasure to drink neat and excellent as a summer drink. A vermouth tonic is a slightly lighter, but no less flavourful, alternative to gin and tonic, and we love this spicy Barbera Vermouth with tonic in the summer. What Dogliotti gives us here is a visually appealing bottle, with, most importantly, balanced herbal aromas and the interplay of bitterness and sweetness.
