The wine is a dark Bordeaux-red, with medium density in the glass. The nose exudes a typical Sangiovese fragrance of sour cherries and herbal spices, along with noticeable wood aromas. It's still youthfully fruity, with a little liquorice, and already very complex for a Chianti Classico. Very nice fruit on the palate, cool aromas and very juicy. The tannins are prominent but very ripe, with good pressure and length. These promise improvement over the next few years and ably convey the quality of the winery.
