Azienda Agricola Gagliole Valletta IGT 2017

This is our darling!! Why? There are wines that put a smile on your face just by looking at them. Not because they are the very best wines, but because they offer so much for what you pay for them. Valletta is clearly one of them. A Supertuscan that regularly scores high points, but costs a fraction of the other representatives of this type. Do you need more arguments? Not really, but the wine doesn't really need any points from critics to convince us. 50% Sangiovese, 50% Merlot - this is where the best of the two grape varieties comes together!

Ageing for at least 14 months in barriques, partly new and used, gives the structure that such a wine needs.

The wine is still young and you can still feel the fresh wood a little, but it is integrated in a super harmonious way and gently envelops the wine. The Sangiovese is more present on the nose than the Merlot and also has delicate mineral hints. Very exciting!

Great fruit aromas on the palate, currants, sour cherries, a little vanilla with coffee and a hint of almond aroma. Everything is harmoniously interwoven. Great powerful wine with a very fine, animating acidity that calls for the next sip. With a little patience, enjoy the long finish.

A wine that never disappoints and makes a fantastic gift. A perfect entry into the elite league of Supertuscans.
