Azienda Agricola Gagliole Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2018 Magnum

We have been waiting for this wine, honestly! Gagliole produces great wines on a world-class level, but they are not cheap either. The Chianti Classico Rubiolo is one of the best in its category every year, but the jump to the Gran Selezione "Gallule" above was always substantial. This Chianti Classico Riserva now fills this gap. It's a great red wine that delighted us from the first sip. Pure Sangiovese with great fruit and lively acidity, plus the great integrated wood and fresh acidity. Wonderfully balanced, elegant and powerful. The tannins are ripe and soft, but still prominent. It is still at the beginning of its ripening period, but it goes perfectly with the typical Tuscan cuisine like meat and pasta.

The wine should definitely be decanted for a few hours so that it can unfold, then it is a real pleasure.

In a magnum, the wine definitely has an even greater ageing potential; 15 or more years is quite realistic here.
