Description

This elegant yet powerful Gotinsprun (named after the old name for the wine town of Göttlessbrunn) was aged in 70% new French barriques for 18 months. It was then allowed to mature in the bottle for another 2 years. Now the Glatzer's flagship is ready to drink. Made from at least 50% Blaufränkisch, a good 30% Merlot, and depending on the year some Zweigelt and Syrah, the wine can be stored for at least 10 years.

A fine scent of cherries flows on the nose, spice paired with vanilla and a little nougat. Broad, juicy and pleasant blackberry compote on the palate, and the well integrated, elegant tannin shows the power and potential of this wine. The finish is warm, long and immediately calls for a second sip. Overall very balanced, coherent and a real Göttlesbrunn grenade for very reasonable money.

Can be enjoyed with pink lamb and beef, but is also a safe bet for the grand finale of a wine evening with good friends.
