Pinot Noir from California is one of the most underrated wines from the USA, as it often gets overshadowed by Chardonnay and Cabernet. But the Pinot Noir produced in some regions, such as Monterey, are simply fantastic and simply must be tasted. Be warned though, the chance of falling in love with these wines is very high!

This Pinot Noir by Scott Estate presents an intense and complex aroma on the nose with flavours of red and black cherries, raspberries, blackberries, wild berries, spices such as cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg, as well as smoky and earthy notes. This makes a promising start for an exciting Pinot Noir.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and round, with a good balance between fruit and acidity. The impressions from the nose can also be found on the palate, complemented by notes of vanilla, chocolate and tobacco. The use of wood is noticeable, but very well crafted and not too intense. Long, juicy finish with beautiful dark berry aromas.

The wine is very drinkable now but can be allowed to age for a few more years. An elegant and versatile Pinot Noir from Monterey.
