Punset Winery

Organic wine

Punset, which means something like round hilltop in the Piedmontese dialect, is one of the pioneers of organic viticulture in the region. Marina Marcarino began to cultivate the vineyards in an environmentally-friendly way and to certify them according to Ecocert as early as the mid-1980s. The trained agricultural scientist had to accept setbacks from the beginning due to the conversion of the vineyards and regular floods in the historic cellar rooms. A new building located higher up in the middle of the vineyards was completed a few years ago and today meets all her requirements for careful handling of the grape material.

The wines from Punset are now among the outstanding representatives in the region and Marina is considered the expert in organic viticulture. She produces long-lasting, traditional Barbaresco that we'd recommend to every lover of Piedmontese wines. In our search for sustainable, but high-quality wines, we couldn't pass by Punset. The combination of top wines and closeness to nature convinced us this was a wine we had to have.

In 2004, Marina joined forces with other organic wineries in Italy that share the same philosophy and founded the Consorzio Vintesa Italian Wines. This consortium produces organic wines from these winegrowers in Italy under the motto "l'intesa tra vingnaioli bio", and distributes and promotes them to the world.
