Planeta Winery

If there is a winery or a family that should be thanked for the rise of Sicily as a wine-growing region, it's Planeta.

More than 35 years ago, Alessio and Santi Planeta planted their first vineyard on the island. Today the family owns six wineries in Sicily, the majority of which are dedicated to the development of autochthonous grape varietals. However, their greatest success came with international varietals such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which remain among the most important wines grown by the family today.

The quality that Planeta produces has always been outstanding. The family is driven by quality and respect for nature, and local grape varietals are extremely important to them.
