Azienda Agricola Perusini Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso 2020 D.O.C, 0,75 L

The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso grape variety has emerged as a remarkable discovery in recent years. This local red wine from Friuli boasts a unique profile and significant potential. Although it has long been part of the region's viticulture, only recently has it begun to receive the recognition it deserves.

The fermentation temperature for this wine is maintained around 26 degrees Celsius. During the two-week maceration period, the wine is frequently pumped over and punched down. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine is immediately transferred to French oak barriques, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and refines for about a year.

The 2020 vintage stands out as an especially elegant representation of this grape variety, featuring a moderate alcohol content. It presents a Bordeaux red colour and medium body in the glass, exuding aromas of dark berries and spices, with hints of candied fruit and a touch of coffee.

The first sip surprises with its freshness and liveliness, offering good concentration, ripe tannins, and a vibrant acidity that invites the next sip. This is an independent red wine that captures the essence of the Adriatic region with every taste.
