Pinot Grigio Ramato, a distinctive variation of Pinot Grigio, is particularly common in Friuli. "Ramato" refers to the prolonged contact of the reddish Pinot Grigio grapes with their skins, which imparts a delicate rosé hue, sometimes even copper tones, to the wine.

This extended skin contact also introduces more tannins, altering both the flavour and texture of the wine. This traditional method, especially relevant in the current trend of orange wines, offers an even more compelling experience.

In our opinion, Perusini delivers one of the finest examples of this style in Friuli. The wine is complex yet retains a refreshing quality.

On the nose, it presents a beautiful spiciness with hints of ripe pears and a delicate nuttiness. Subtle citrus notes linger in the background, giving the impression of a fuller, richer wine.

On the palate, the light tannins provide a noticeable grip. You'll find plenty of light-coloured fruit with a touch of nuts. It's difficult to pinpoint whether it's the acidity or the tannins, but they give the wine a robust structure that extends into a long finish.

This exciting wine pairs excellently with Mediterranean cuisine and complements white meats wonderfully.
