This is one of 7 single vineyard Brunello from Corte Pavone, and an internationally iconic wine. Anemone al Sole is on average the warmest location in Corte Pavone. The grapes are correspondingly ripe here and produce a really impressive wine. Falstaff gives it 96 points, and we'd even go one better, but to be honest, such wines don't need any classification. It's hedonistic Brunello enjoyment. Much better is not possible.

Dark, dense ruby waits in the glass. The nose is beguilingly multi-layered with dark cherry aromas, plums and a spicy component. It's very subtle and multi-layered, so smelling and exploring the wine is a lot of fun. Yes, the wine currently needs a lot of air so that it can develop. Be patient and a firework of aromas will explode on the palate. It's very juicy, with wonderful cherries and forest berry fruits. Great, super ripe tannins, lively acidity, very complex and a lot of wine in the mouth. This Brunello could hardly be better. It's a wine that already gives a lot, but has enormous potential. Consider yourself lucky if you have a bottle or two of this vintage at home in the cellar.
