Weingut Leo Hillinger HILLside red 2017

This cuvée is a perfect interplay of the flavour of the Syrah (60%), the fruit of the Zweigelt (30%) and the power of the Merlot (10%). With a dark ruby and violet rim, fruity, fleshy, spicy aromas open up on the nose, reminiscent of blackberries, raspberries and ripe cherries, but also smoked meat and black pepper. This is accompanied by a seasoning of cloves. On the palate, the blackberry tone and taste of black pepper stand out, paired with fine roasted aromas and a very well-integrated acidity. The subtle use of wood contributes to the strong tannin structure. The long finish is compact and ends with a nice extract sweetness.

Goes wonderfully with dark meat and is welcome at every party.
