Il Palagione Chianti Colli Senesi Riserva DOCG Draco 2017

Sangiovese is a fascinating grape, producing everything from the simplest quality to absolute top wines. It is one of the most exciting and expressive varietals in Italy, if not the world.

This Riserva quality Chianti from San Gimignano made by the Il Palagione winery is an elegant and multi-layered representative. We have also grown to love these wines because of the winemaker Giorgio Comotti.

The 2017 vintage has cool and mineral aromas with lots of red berries and a delicate herbal spice on the nose. On the palate, the aromas of berries and the spiciness continue, added to the skilful, noticeable use of wood and stony minerality from the ground. A powerful wine with elegant, very ripe tannins that is not overwhelming, but has a lot of drinkability. It has ten or more years of storage potential, we were able to experience that ourselves when we tasted old vintages. As a younger wine, it is still nice to drink and a real pleasure when decanted.
