Weingut Hofbauer-Schmidt Grüner Sylvaner Ried End des Berges 2020

Grüne Sylvaner is the oldest grape variety in Austria, though it can barely be found anymore. In Germany, this white wine varietal is also called the Austrian vine. Unfortunately, only around 50 hectares of this autochthonous example are still being cultivated.

This cheeky guy from vines that are over 25 years old is unique and a hit at blind tastings. Smoky and delicate, it shines with delicate pear and quince aromas, always remains lively and, with its juicy acidity, ensures it slips down. You just have to try such a wine.

Made as an accompaniment to asparagus, but also pairs well with many other vegetarian dishes.
