Grauburgunder, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Gris are different names for the same grape. It's very changeable and has a completely different character depending on where it is grown. As a pleasing Pinot Grigio, it is consumed every day by many holidaymakers in Italy without giving much thought to what grape is actually in the glass.

This Grauburgunder is of a different calibre, showing what this grape varietal can produce.

We really like the 2020 vintage and would say it's even a touch better than 2019. The wine is still very fresh, with aromas of ripe apple and some orange or grapefruit, plus hints of flowers. It's quite powerful and creamy on the palate, with very nice acidity, which is often lacking in many Pinot Gris. It has a good draw, making a wine that wants to be drunk. It's currently a pleasure to drink, but is better with a bit of air. Can be left for a couple of years and is very versatile with food.
