hochberc is an icon with consistently high-quality and enormous maturity potential. It is a Blaufränkisch benchmark - no more and no less. And no, it's not a misspelling. The Hochberg vineyard in Deutschkreutz used to be written with a "c" at the end and Albert Gesellmann took on that, thereby creating a unique selling point.

It's still young and from the balanced 2018 vintage. After 40 days on the lees, the Blaufränkisch was allowed to mature in 500l oak barrels for a good 30 months. It's still at the beginning of its long journey and has enormous potential, though it's already perfectly balanced between fruit sweetness and acidity, with insane tension on the palate! Delicately salty with chocolate notes in a never-ending finish.
