Confidentielle from Château Saint Roch is not only one of Parker's favourites but ours as well, in nearly every vintage.

Our first taste of the 2021 vintage left us deeply impressed. The winery's style is evolving more each year towards freshness and elegance. However, if you prefer robust, full-bodied wines, you'll still find plenty to enjoy here.

For the price, we find it hard to match this wine's quality.

Comprised of roughly equal parts Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, this wine matures in used barrique barrels, delivering a bouquet rich with juicy red berries and a pronounced mineral note. There's also a wonderfully subtle touch of vanilla, a hint of leather, and notable wood notes.

On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, with subtle freshness and finely woven, almost silky tannins. A spicy component adds depth, exerting a strong presence on the palate, and leading to a fiery but long-lasting finish. It's a truly exceptional wine, especially for aficionados of Rhône Valley wines.

This wine offers tremendous value, rivalling others that are much more expensive.
