Alexana Terroir Series Pinot Noir 2018

This Terroir Series Pinot Noir by Alexana shows the complexity of the Willamette Valley. The grapes are selected from the best vines and come into their own in this wine.

The 2016 vintage really impressed us at the time and, from our point of view, 2018 will go one better. Pinot Noir from Oregon has huge potential and is a fantastic addition to any wine cellar.

The wine is relatively dark, reminiscent of a Burgundian Pommard. On the nose, we find beautiful red berry fruit with orange zest and vanilla. It's very complex. The aromas reappear on the palate where it's very juicy. We'd call this a wine to bite into. There's lots of pressure with very ripe tannins, which pair with beguiling red fruit up to the long finish.

The wine has enormous storage potential and should definitely be decanted for a few hours. If not, it may well taste too one-dimensional and we don't want that!
