Description
Maulwurf is a powerful red wine blend from Rust on Neusiedlersee and combines local Blaufränkisch with a little Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. After ageing in a 500l oak barrel, Maulwurf never denies its origins whilst still skillfully showing its international class - and we like that.
Ripe and dark aromas of sweet heart cherries with a little cassis and delicate herbal spices. Every sip is varied and rich in finesse. Warm with a slightly salty finish (from the younger Blaufränkisch Mariental plants), it flows into a hint of dark chocolate. Juicy and courteous, the red wine complements an elegant pleasure trip that can last a good 10 years or more.
Hand-picked, unfiltered, minimally sulphurised, natural and sustainable - respect!
