Val delle Rose Aurelio Maremma Toscana 2016

This is what Tuscany tastes like! A homage to the beautiful Maremma, the south-western part of Tuscany in central Italy. Famous wines such as Sassicaia and Ornellaia come from this region, but this wine costs far less and still has enormous quality. It was named after the Via Aurelio, which runs along the coast.

This Supertuscan from the 2016 dream vintage consists of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc and was traditionally matured in barriques, then allowed to mature in the bottle for another 2 years. Now it delights with a bouquet of ripe berries, dark chocolate, delicate roasted aromas and velvety tannins. Full and full-bodied, each sip takes the whole mouth away. The long and warm finish puts a slight smile in your mouth.

A typical representative of this region with a sensational price-performance structure. Goes well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina or other dark meat dishes.
