It's a great red wine with a lot of power and smoothness, which easily outshines many wines in this price range. This is Sangiovese from Montalcino at a really high level, biodynamically produced with a lot of respect for nature and the soil.

Anyone who knows Sangiovese will recognise it immediately the first time they sniff the wine glass. The characteristic herbal spiciness is accompanied by clear roasted aromas from the wooden barrel. It's really powerful, multilayered and rich in tannins on the palate. The tannins are very ripe and soft, and the acidity ensures a great balance, inviting the next sip.

In all honesty, if you want to become familiar with the characteristics of Montalcino Sangiovese, you don't have to go straight to the Brunello, but can confidently start with the Rosso. There is a hell of a lot on offer here and you really can't go wrong.
