La Pruina is one of Apulia's top wines. Some of the best Primitivos in Italy come from here and Luca Maroni regularly receives top ratings. In the heart of Salento, where fields of olive trees have grown for centuries, lie the iconic vineyards of La Pruina. The soil is mainly calcareous and poor in nutrients. In these conditions, the vines focus all their efforts on absorbing nutrients from the soil. Due to the climate, the grapes dry out slightly on the vine, which gives these wines have a high concentration of aromas and a deep dark colour.
