Weingut Günter u. Regina Triebaumer Extract Cabernet Franc 2018

In Rust am See, Günter Triebaumer surprised us once again with a barrel tasting. Following his Cabernet Sauvignon Extract, we also secured the best barrique barrel of Cabernet Franc for this limited special bottling!

With the Cabernet Sauvignon, the misfortune of the broken wheel in the fermentation tank led to an unwanted concentration of wine. With this Cabernet Franc, however, the yield was already greatly reduced in the vineyard. Afterwards, some must was removed so that the wine had more tannins and thus natural concentration. After a total of 24 months in barrique barrels and a little bottle ageing, the wine is still at the beginning of a very long journey.
There are only 300 bottles in one barrique! Limited, unique and exclusive - there's no more of this wine and it's unlikely any more will be available anytime soon.

The wine is very dark with a lot of pressure on the palate. Bursting with power! Gripping tannins testify to the concentration. On the nose, there's a delicate scent of cassis, fresh figs and a lot of wood spice. On the palate, it's full of pressure, compact and yet juicy. Lots of wine in the mouth with pleasant blueberry fruit, a touch of chocolate and a slightly nutty finish. Tingles for a long time and slides warmly and benevolently into a seemingly endless finish. This is how a serious Cabernet Franc should taste!

A unique collector's item that's already drinkable. It's guaranteed to develop for the next 10-15 years. Each bottle has been lovingly handcrafted with black sealing wax. Fantastic!
