Weingut Feiler-Artinger Solitaire 2016

The (organic) Solitaire red blend has achieved cult status after almost 30 years on the market. Individually set diamonds are also known as solitaire, giving their name to the flagship of the house. From the best vineyards around Rust, the 2016 vintage was pressed from 88% Blaufränkisch, 11% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc. After 24 months of maturation in new barriques and then further bottle ageing in the cellar, it's showing what it's capable of.

We were immediately impressed by this wine during the tasting with Kurt Feiler in the winery. You can almost say it was love at first sip. Dry, strong and full of temperament. The wood is already well integrated, and the tannins distinctive, soft and round. Everything is harmonious and coherent. Dark fruits with light roasted aromas, a silky touch and a juicy bite that immediately invites you to take the next sip. The finish is long, warm with nice spice and shows the greatness of this wine.

Great storage potential of a good 15 years. A meditation wine and companion for wonderful evenings with best friends.
