Château de Pommard Ladoix Premier Cru "Les Gréchons" 2017 Blanc, 0,75 L

Ladoix is somewhat overshadowed by the other appellations in Burgundy, but has significantly increased in popularity and reputation in recent years. Ladoix is the last vineyard in the northern Côte de Beaune before reaching the Côte de Nuits, and Les Gréchons is one of the highest located plots on the steep side of the hill of Corton.

This creates a Chardonnay that really impressed us. It is already very drinkable, but it could mature for decades. The wine reveals light floral hints on the nose, with citrus and peach aromas. A little honey and acacia are added with air. These flavours are reflected on the palate, alongside a very nice acidity that makes the wine super balanced. There are mineral notes in the finish, paired with a little orange and a great creamy texture.

Admittedly, we are big Chardonnay fans, especially when it comes to Burgundy, but we won't apologise. You just have to be enthusiastic about this wine. This is Burgundy at a high level - simply fantastic.
