Cascina Ca'Rossa

There are wineries that need a second sip to be fully appreciated and Cascina Ca'Rossa is definitely one of them. Why? Though the wines are undoubtedly fantastic and of impressive quality, the winery is in Canale, the centre of the Roero growing region in Piedmont and not, for example, in Alba. This means that the approx. 60,000 bottles that are produced from approx. 15 hectares of vineyards do not bear the famous names Barolo or Barbaresco, but are referred to as Roero. Connoisseurs and lovers probably know all about them, but less experienced wine lovers are more likely to go for the familiar name. However, we can confidently say that what is produced here by Cascina Ca'Rossa is some of the best we have ever tasted in the region, especially for the price. Gambero Rosso takes a similar view and repeatedly awards the winery the coveted Tre Bicchieri, the highest award for special wines.
