The word "serious" has always been synonymous with Bernhard Ernst since he began his winemaking journey in 2005. Even back then, his goal was to create serious wines. However, the process was more experimental—young, wild, and improvised, much like Bernhard himself, working out of his parents' garage.

While his commitment to crafting serious wines remains unchanged, much has evolved around him. A beautifully designed new winery, a shift to organic farming in 2023, and a focus on sustainability have all become part of the framework that defines his work today.

"Origin counts" is both his motto and his message. Whether it's the premium single-vineyard wines or the basic "Deutschkreutz" line, Bernhard's unwavering pursuit of consistent, high quality is evident. He is deeply passionate about showcasing the unique character of the vineyards surrounding his village.

This dedication is especially clear in his flagship wines—the three single-vineyard Blaufränkisch, Fabian, Goldberg, and Hochberg—as well as in the two blends, Zion and La Mission. Each of these wines offers a distinct taste of Bernhard’s roots, firmly grounded in Deutschkreutz, central Burgenland, along with the message he seeks to convey through his craft.
